Child drowns in Downers Grove

A small child drowned at the Downers Grove Swim and Racquet Club on Sunday evening, ABC 7 reports.

The child, Anna Trent, 4, was found unconscious in the pool around 7:30 p.m., police said. She was taken to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital but wasn't able to be revived.

She was pronounced dead just after 9 p.m., ABC 7 reported.

The club tweeted on Monday: "We are deeply saddened by the loss of a young life at our pool on Sunday, June 19th, 2016. The incident is currently under investigation and the pool will remained [sic] closed until further notice. The tennis facilities will open June 21st. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with all of the families that are involved."
